Church and such

There's one question that's been on my mind for quite some time. How does one instill a true sense of worship into a congregation that has lost it's sense of worship. A friend of mine's dad was kind enough to weigh on this thought on my facebook page just this evening. In order to instill worship, we have to model true worship ourselves, especially as church leaders. Pray for your congregation, and step out of the way and allow the Holy Spirit to work around you, let it use you, and let it be the true reason you are worshiping. In the next couple (many) weeks, I will be conducting a little survey with my church, to see what they feel is missing from their worship service, and what they feel they should be leaving a service with. What should they be gaining, and what should they be giving at such a service.

If you'd like to weigh in, feel free to leave a comment below!

This reminds me of something

Holy Cow! 2 posts in a day!!! WHAT A RECORD!!!

Anyways, moving on, it's storming here in Maryland, and its reminded me of a story that a friend of mine told me not too long ago. He was talking of an older gentleman at his church, who loved to make people think he was senile, and make them laugh. One Sunday, after a very rainy week, this gentleman decided to have a little fun with the congregation at his church. He grabbed a lawn chair, and fishing pole, and headed to the side of the street where water ran by in a lovely stream. Lo and behold, the man started fishing in that stream on the side of the road, as people were walking into church! What a novel idea!!! (Kinda of reminds me of my friend Jono, who went surfing on an ironing board in a highway median, just for kicks) When I get older, I want to be like this gentleman, because I want to have a lot of fun when I'm done with work and school, and everything else that bogs us down in this lifetime. I want to bring joy and make people crack a smile as they walk by.

I feel like I want to add something that will bring closure, but I think I will end this mid thou

Maybe...

So, I thought "maybe I'll try this blogging thing again" as I was talking to my uber-blogging friend Emily Perper, aka Fabio. The problem is, I'm not quite sure to write about, so, I'm sure the 6 of you who actually "follow" this could come up with something, if not, I guess I could come up with something soon, but probably not until after finals, or maybe during finals.... you know what, I'm going to leave it up to God, if He put something on my heart, I will be sure to post it. Sound good? I certainly thought so... Perhaps I'm getting better at this as I go? Not quite sure... I just realized that this post will sound a lot like David Crowder's ramblings and trains of thought, maybe this will make my blog more interesting. Maybe one day, I'll just get online, and start writing what I'm thinking about, and then it will just grow into some enormous blog post, much like this one! HA! Would you look at that? I guess I can be interesting....
